Max Komlos

Originally from Canada, I came to Taiwan in 1995. A graduate of McMaster University (Hamilton, Ontario), I stayed on with the university for several years after finishing my studies, under the employ of the Department of Physical Education. Prior to beginning my career as a teacher in Taiwan, I had taught English in South America as well as in Canada. I have always loved teaching and have found the role of a teacher to be extremely rewarding. Working at ACES has proven to be wonderful. Our staff and students are the BEST!

Etienne Nagant

Hey there, I’m Etienne. I was born and grew up in California, very close to San Francisco. I came to Taiwan after high school to study at National Taiwan University in Taipei in 2009. My mother is Taiwanese and my father is Belgian and I have three younger brothers and an older sister who are still living in California. I came to Taiwan for a different view of life and as you can see I love it here and I wanted to stay and live in Taiwan. In order to do that, after graduating from university, I did my duty in the Taiwanese military and now I am a full fledged citizen. After serving my year long service I wound up here at ACES and have been having a great time teaching and interacting with students and parents since. I truly enjoy working with children and I will try my best to help them reach their full potential!

David Yang

I’m David. I was born in Taipei, Taiwan and immigrated to the United States when I was 4 years old. Since then, I was raised in Palo Alto, California and graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio in 2012. I am very proud of my multicultural roots and consider it an honor to help Taiwanese kids at Aces to become better global citizens.

Outside of the classroom, I enjoy playing basketball and soccer, reading, and traveling. Being at ACES has been a true blessing because the students and parents are such happy and motivated people who strive for excellence every single day. I promise I will provide the best teaching possible and help your kids become the best they can be, inside and outside of school!
