I have been teaching in Taipei since 2007. I was born in Chicago, Illinois and raised in Ann Arbor, Michigan. After graduating from high school I went to Washington University in St. Louis where I studied Chinese language and political science. After college I traveled to Taiwan to continue my language studies and fell in love with the island. I have since completed a master’s degree from National Taiwan University and enjoy participating in a wide variety of athletic and social activities.

This is Ian from Calgary, Canada. After graduating from the University of Victoria with a degree in Trumpet Performance, I moved to Taipei in 2017 to pursue further education at the National Taiwan Normal University. Having developed a passion for applied linguistics and pedagogy through my own language studies, I decided to set up residence in Taiwan and pursue a career in language education. I hope to help students develop into independent learners by sharing effective study methods which will set them up for success beyond graduation. See you in class!

Hi there! My name’s Steven. I was born in Taiwan, but at the age of 3, my family and I immigrated to Canada. At the age of 22 I finished my undergrad at the University of British Columbia. After trekking upon many different jobs and careers, I had to do some soul searching to find out what my true passion was. So with that in mind and many years away from Taiwan, and having very little memory of Taiwan, I decided to move back to Taiwan in 2019 to get reacquainted. I can happily say it’s the best decision I’ve made yet. I have a strong passion for helping and teaching others, together with being fluent in both Mandarin and English. I believe I have the best ability to help the next generation achieve their language goals. I hope to see you in our classrooms!
